How can we attach an investment profile to a WBS element already released?

Yes, do it in CJ20N. Open the project, click on respective WBS, goto Control tab of WBS, enter investment profile there.

But if we do this, we are encountering an error in settlement which states "asset is incomplete". How can we correct this?

open your project >click on the WBs for which you are getting error> Eidt menu --> WBS Element > Investment Program>Create Completed asset.

Check asset class maintained in the investment profile. GL account should be maintained for asset class, check with FI consultant.

Ideally, IM profile is mainted in project before you REL ( Relased ) it. Because with REL of WBS it will create AUC in IM against that WBS.....
I feel that if your asset is not complete and you tried to maintain IM profile sys will give me some sort of warning / error message. Just check.....
Hi, I think its completely depend on your Investment profile settings
OITA - if maintain manage AUC then only system creats AUC .. otherwise you can createAUC as per your requirement.... syst. will not create.....
