Dears,
Please advise concerning whether the copy control (sales doc to sales doc) item category
proposal can override the ordinary item category determination.(doc. type, itm cat grp)
Thank you and best regards
Dears,
Please kindly consider the following:
- the default item category for doc. type D2 is I2
- In the copy control from doc. type D1 to doc. type D2,I have configured
item cat I1 (of doc D1) to be copied to item cat I3
- When creating a sales order D2 with reference to D1 the determined
item category is I2.(ignoring the copy control instructions)
Thank you and best regards.

Hi,
The first preference to determine is item catagery detmnation.
As u asked about copy controls in proposal is delt with the copying of document header to header of subsequent document.
Why we do this?
If u cant maintain copy controls from dcoument to document the data will not flows accross.
Hope ur doubt got clarified.

Reddy

Hi,
Both are different thing which you are asking.
While doing copy you are copying all the material from the previous document to the new one.
So if you give item category proposal in copy control then it will take that only.
Other wise system will determine item category by the combination of
Sales order u2013 item category group u2013 usage u2013 item category at higher level.
Item category proposal required when you are adding material to the sales document.
So system uses the item category determination process to find out item category.
And if you are copying the document then system will take item category which you have mention in item category proposal in copy control
Hope so this will clarify your doubt.
Regards
Raj.
