Hi,
First and foremost skill needed for SOA is to understand the business and business processes. SAP as a Platform and ES (BPP) vendor have taken it to next level by providing Service oriented business application. Now its your choice to consume this as a base for your business and do innovations that helps your business leverage this...
Technology part is where you are concerned then ESR+Service Registry, BPM ....

Hi Mahesh,
ESOA - Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture
Hi Mahesh,
Skills are prerequisites u2013 should have some basic knowledge about XML & some knowledge about business logic. If you have prior knowledge about any business domain then it will helpful in future.
where enterprise application functionality is service enabled keeping interfaces
inline with business defintions. you do not require any java skills to service
enable the functionality. But a good knowledge of XML is mendatory as this is
the language for communication. But here only understanding of the XML is needed. You will not need to create or write any XML code.I would suggest you you to start with StylusStudio. This is the tool that you will use frequently to create SOAP request for the Webservices that you will generate.
Also Imp transactions are SPROXY, WSADMIN, WSCONFIGu2026u2026.
Yes it has great future as it allows the decoupling and coupling
of applications based on open standards very easily.
Thanks
Raj

Hi,
Different roles identified in SOA regime and skill set is again different for different roles.
Developer:
User Interface developer: You must have good understanding of WebDynpro, Adobe Interactive Form, Visual Composer etc (all of them very easy to learn).
Service Developer: Good knowledge of ABAP, web serviced standards (WSDL, UDDI etc), Good knowledge of Java (if working in CAF).
Modeling: Good knowledge of XI will help.
I suggest to get good overview of XI/PI and web service standard, start with simple exercise and blogs mentioned on SDN. You can also download CE7.1.1 trial version which will help you to get good learning environment.
I hope it helps.

Gourav
