P.S. Are you getting the popup for authorization when you put the link and click Go? This could be the problem.
Dear Sagar,
Nothing is required if you are accessing through active sync, as everything is taken from your pc. If your pc can open it, then it should open in the PDA. Also there is no hostentry concept in the pda. If you want to exclude local servers to be left out while using a proxy, you can check out the advanced exceptions and add your server if you are using a network proxy under the PDA->Start->Settings->Connections->Connections

Veera
Dear Sagar,
I have just tested one of our own MI servers with my PDA. I was able to successfully open and install the Tomcat_Tomcat.cab file for MI JSP runtime. Please ensure that you are adding your link to the Start ->Settings->Connections->Connections-> Advanced->exceptions for proxy in the pda (for example add the new URL http://<serverhost>.<domain/active directory>:<ABAP HTTP port>/*)
Now you should beable to open the link in your device. One preprequisite is that the different mobile clients (AWT/JSP) and if required(optional) the JVM (CrEme) also is uploaded properly in the server.
Regards,
Veera
P.S. Tried to edit earlier post, got error and hence am posting a new one.
Dear Sagar,
Please note that you can install the CrEme (JVM) and MI Tomcat runtime using the .cab files (Win Mobile setup packages) of them respectively. After installing both, you can either restart the device or go to \Windows\Startup folder in your PDA using file explorer and launch the MI shortcut to launch the MITomcat runtime (I advice you to keep the pda disconnected from pc/activesync for faster startup). Wait for some time, then launch the PIE using the MI shortcut. If you get a dns error, press ok and wait a minute or more. Then refresh the same link in PIE to launch MI Client. Please note that you have to use http://localhost:4444 for Windows Mobile 5.0, 6.0, 6.1 and http://127.0.0.1:4444/ for Windows Mobile 2003 SE.
Regards,
Veera
Veeraraagavan,
As per procedure you mentioned I have installed both CrEme (JVM) and MI Tomcat .But when I try to open http://localhost:4444 using PIE it gives error 'page can not be opened'.
Dear Sagar,
You have to first of a launch the Tomcat MI - Virtual Server. Did you soft reset/restart the PDA after installation of the two .cab files?
Regards,
Veera
P.S.Also if you are using Window Mobile 2003 SE or older, you have to use 127.0.0.1, but if you are using Win Mo 5 or higher, you need not worry. Localhost should work
Dear Sagar,
Is your PDA connected through active sync? are u able to open other local urls with the PDA?
Or, are you trying to connect through GPRS?
Regards,
Veera
