How do I find my old License Key?

I am trying to track down one of our old license keys for Crystal reports desktop designer V8.5.

We are running software which uses crystal reports to print out transmittals.

Due to a change in the company, the logo's on the reports need replacing. The only version of Crystal reports designer which is compatible is V8.5, which I have but the License for it was lost before I started working at this company.

Would there be a database where the keys are kept?

I also have this problem.

In the past I log into the Login-URL "https://secure.businessobjects.com/login/login.asp?prepare=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.businessobjects.com%2Fregister%2Fcontent.asp" and than I found the "Registrations" under "My Profile".

This should also be working today (see "http://www.businessobjects.com/register/FAQ.asp?language=EN#1") but it doesn't!

SAP is still working on it (since about 1,5 months ago)!

We currently do not have the software installed. So I am not able to retrieve the key via Registry or through Help>About.

Users can print crystal reports as we copy crystal reporting files into users profiles.

There is no instance of Crystal reporting installed on any server.

Hi Ryan,

You can get license key from

-Click on Help -> About Crystal Reports..

-Try to find from Registry Editor:

Click on Run->Type regedit ->

Expand Software folder->Crystal Decisions-> search for Keycodes

you can also try to log a incident for keycode:

For a new key:

Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials. Using these credentials you can login and click in the "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key.

If your Key code does not work

You need create a customer message https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/message using component XX-SER-LIKEY-BOJ.
