Hi Experts,

I am into a domestic project , as a PI consultant. My landscspe comprises of ECC 6.0 , PI 7.0 and SAP Triversity. We have a basis team to take care of the basis part.

Very rescentlty, I have been given choice to take care of an additional feature called Solution Manager . I dont know anything in prtactical about this.

I dont have any basis background. I only know Solution Manager enables

1. to generate a mail from SAP AG that gives full performance of the system, can be R/3 or SAP PI ,

2. Manual performance monitering [ from transaction perspective] to measure load on specific transactions can also be done.

Experts, I wish to know, apart from these, is there any other significant feature of SOLMAN that I need to know as an Interface consultant, taking care of PI as well as the inbound / outbound movement of idocs across R/3.

PLease enlighten me !

Regards,

Arnab .

Arnab,

Solution Manager is SAP's service and support platform to help customer implement and operate thier SAP solution efficiently. It is platform which supports you throughout the netire life cycle of your solution right from evaluation, implementation till continuous operation of you solutions.

Apart from the functionalities mentioned by you Solman can be used for different purposes during each phase of solution lifecycle. you can use it in implementation as a project management tool, functional consultant can use it for BBP generation, testers can use it for testing and it can also be used for solution monitoring and service desk operation.

Hope this helps. I can tell you oin detail if you need any detailed information on a specific subject area of Solman. let me know please.

Manish,

many thanks on the prompt reply

Yes, I would like to know more on the following.

1. implementation as a project management tool

2.testers can use it for testing

Lastly apart from this, how can I, as a senior PI consultant use it, during implementation for integration between R/3 and PI servers, ...I know, I sound vague,, but actually , I cant express the right question,,,

Anyways,

Pls comment, what ever you think is feasible !
