Hi Bindi,
You may go through like this
1. Open Data Sources (ODBC) interface:
Start ->Settings -> Control Panel->Administrative Tools ->DataSources (ODBC)
2. Select System DSN Tab in Data Sources (ODBC) interface
3. Click on [Add].
4. Select the Microsoft Text Driver.
5. Click [Finish].
6. For the following steps, use the ODBC Text Setup dialog box.
7. Write a Data Source Name.
8. Uncheck Use Current Directory to enable the [Select Directoryu2026] button.
9. Click on [Select directoryu2026] to determine the source directory.
10. Select the source file.
11. Click [OK] and return to the ODBC Text Setup screen.
12. Click [OK].
13. Return to the ODBC Data Source Administrator dialog and click [OK].
14. Run SAP NetWeaver MDM Import Manager
15. Select ODBC from the Type drop-down field of the Connect To Source dialog.
16. Enter the DSN name from the Setup ODBC Connection dialog above.
17. Select the file name with extension (.csv or .txt, .tab files or .txt files with Tab delimiter are not
supported yet) in the Tables panel of SAP NetWeaver MDM Import Manager and the file content in the Records panel.
Probably it may be more Towards ODBC Source centric But It will help.

Hi Bindi,
If u want to import record from Oracle Database then u shd know following things:
1. Name of DBMS Server
2. Name of source database
3. Username & password to connect to database.
Once connection is done then other import procedure is same.
Thanks,
