J2EE engine version information

Former Member

I am trying to find out what version of J2EE SAP's Web AS adheres to. The last I heard was that it adhered to 1.3 but I came across a weblog which stated that it adheres to 1.4. I know the JRE is 1.4.2 and this would seem to confirm that SAP adheres to 1.4 but not necessarily so. Also, does anyone have any idea on some of the Java specification for the next generation of SAP's WEB AS?

Hi Shaun,

WebAS 6.20 supports J2EE 1.2 + webcontainer from 1.3

WebAS 6.30, WebAS 6.40 (NW 04), WebAS 6.45 (NW 04S) supports J2EE 1.3 + WebContainer 1.4

In the future J2EE 5.0 support should be avilable

Both '04 and '04S support J2SE 1.4.2 but this you can check in the supportability matrix. Let me know if you need the specific J2SEs regarding the OSs

Kind regards, Angel

Hi Angel,

I am working on EP 5.0 SP 5.

When I checked for J2EE version, I found it's J2EE Engine 6.20 PatchLevel 100897.20.

How do I will come to know about the PL number?

(i.e. Whether it's PL 15 or 19 or 37)?

Hi Angel,

Thanks for your time.

Your answer was very useful. Yesterday, I also browsed through the service market place & found it from SAP notes.

I would like to mention one point, the file "Version.txt" doesn't gives the PL no., it only displays information <b>"PatchLevel 100897.20".</b> Pl. refer the below file.

-

Version.txt----

  1. Specifies the version of the system

<b>Stand Alone-Version:6.20 PatchLevel 100897.20</b>

Build-On:Tuesday, December 06, 2005 20:11 GMT

Perfroce-Server:perforce3300.sofi.sap.corp

Project-Dir:AppServer/620_SP

AppServer Change-List:100897

XMLInstall Change-List:100896

Build machine:pwdfm010

Build java version:1.3.1_12-b03 Sun Microsystems Inc.

-

Version.txt----

Indeed your answer was very useful for me to confirm it is PL 37.

PS: Points are given.

Just one remark,

The number you were asking for is called Support Pack Number (SP) - not officially published for WebAS 6.20
