Flash vs Web Dynpro - difference

Former Member

Hi there

Has anyone had a problem with toolbar buttons when compiling a VC model as Web Dynpro? I have a form that has a toolbar with 'back' and 'next' buttons. These buttons show up and work fine when deployed as Flash, but don't even display when deployed as Web Dynpro. Interestingly, buttons on a table view toolbar work fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Trish

Hi Trish,

The tool bar buttons are not supported by the webdynpro compiler, you can use normal buttons in the form for back and next.

Thank you for your prompt answer! Are any other differences between the flash and web dynpro documented anywhere?

Yes Trish,

HTML iview will not support in webdynpro compiler and you can use only less operators( filter and sort) and look and feel will be like webdynpro application. Some RFCs also will not support here.

Flash compiler has all features and has a good look and feel and also more preferable for VC.

Thanks Basheer, that's helpful. We have very tight accessibility standards, and Flash is less preferable from that respect. Presumably there are no SAP documents on the differences?

Trish,

You can use Visual Composer 7.1, which contains good features for webdynpro run time.

Interesting. Maybe we'll look to upgrade. Thanks for your help.
