read the upgrade guide, it's a readme.html file.

It gives out complete details on how to upgrade, including which scripts to run after applying patch.

It has totally nothing to do with your SAP system.

Installing only patch 10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.4 is also not enough, you need to install the latest interim patch(es) according to your platform.

Oracle is a complex piece of software, in most cases it's not enough to run setup.exe and you're done.

The Readme.html that comes with the patch has a section "Postinstallation Tasks". Do what's listed there.

Did you do all the post processing mentioned in the README.htm file? It's not enough to just install the patch.

Hi,

The bin files have to be downloaded and "put" together.

The note 509314 "Downloading Oracle patches from SAP Service Marketplace" tells you how to do it.

The patch set has a "readme" file, you have to follow the indications of this file.

Note 1137346 contains the patches that have to be installed afterwards and also instructions/recommendations for the upgrade to 10.2.0.4

Hello Sachin,

the files that you need are already mentioned above.

You have to execute the following command to merge and extract the patch

shell> cat Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64aa.bin Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ab.bin Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ac.bin Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ad.bin >> 10204_Patchset.zip
shell> unzip 10204_Patchset.zip

Btw. this procedure is also described in sapnote #509314.

Regards

Stefan

You need below files for 10.2.0.4 patch.

Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64aa.bin

Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ab.bin

Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ac.bin

Patchset_10204_HPUX-IA64ad.bin

Use WinRAR for extraction of above files.

Nikunj Thaker.
