Customer Hierarchy

Hi,

Is it possible to restrict the assignment of a Customer to a single Higher Level Customer. If so, where can we do the necessary configuration settings.

Helpful answer would be rewarded.

Hi Praveen,

To the best of my knowledge, the customer assignment is UNIQUE for a hierarchy type (A in the standard system), therefore the same customer can not be associated to different hierarchy nodes at the same time!

Note: This is obviously different from the classification system where you can have multiple assignments.

"If you want to define partners as nodes, you can specify in Customizing for Sales which account groups are valid for a particular hierarchy type and which of these account groups may be defined as higher-level account groups. For example, you can exclude the possibility of defining ship-to parties as higher-level nodes, since ship-to parties play no role in pricing."

Hi,

If you want to create a new customer hierarchy, the area of the screen in which the overview tree is normally shown, is empty. Proceed as follows:

  • 1. In the customer area in the right-hand side of the Assignment screen, enter the number and the sales area of the customer, that should display the uppermost nodes for the customer hierarchy. If you create the node at the highest level of the customer hierarchy, you do not need to enter data in the Higher-level customer area.

  • 2. Enter a validity period for the uppermost hierarchy node.

  • 3. Choose Copy.

The system shows the customer at the highest point in the hierarchy.
