Hello

Thanks For Your Kind Support !

Addtional Information from the liveCache server will help to recommend you the CACHE_SIZE parameter settings:

What is the value of the main memory on the liveCache server?

How much did you set for the SWAP?

Do you have another applications running on the liveCache server?

How much main memory could be granted for the liveCache process?

How much data do you have in the liveCache?

Where I am going to find these Please Suggest !

Thanks & Regards

Shishir

Hello Shishir,

1. "What is the value of the main memory on the liveCache server?

How much did you set for the SWAP? "

Ask your Basis administrator.

He could also check that recommendations of the SAP note 487972 are applied!

2. "Do you have another applications running on the liveCache server?

How much main memory could be granted for the liveCache process?"

Login to the server & check it. Ask the Basis team, what they install/run on the liveCache server. And after you will get the answer + answer on the 1. questions => do the estimation on how much main memory could be granted for the liveCache process.

3. " How much data do you have in the liveCache? "

Check the data area usage to check it, for example.

4. As I told you before set the CACHE_SIZE parameter to 125000 & restart

the liveCache in LC10 < stop, then start > to activate the new value.

I assumed there are >= 2GB free memory for the liveCache process on

the liveCache server.

5. This thread already closed by you I think if your system need to be checked further => create the OSS ticket to get the SAP consulting or support.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Natalia

many thanks for an early reply !

I wanted to know that what formula your are applying to get parameter value for Cache_Size,Cat_Cache_Supply

Because in future if we face any problem then we apply same setting on SCM enviorments servers.

This would be great help ! if you help me in this

Addtional Information of our server

========================

Maximal Heap Usage in KB 31276 KB

System Heap in KB 870292 KB

Parameter OMS_HEAP_LIMIT (KB) 1048576

Thanks & Regards

Hello Shishir,

-> In general, the CACHE_SIZE parameter settings could be found in the note 719652.

And you could increase the CACHE_SIZE parameter to 125000, if the OS resources allowed, restart the liveCache from the offline state.

-> I recommend to create the ticket to the component SV-BO-SCM to check

the configuration of the liveCache parameters on your system.

Run http://service.sap.com/quicksizing < SAP link >.

-> Addtional Information from the liveCache server will help to recommend you the CACHE_SIZE parameter settings:

What is the value of the main memory on the liveCache server?

How much did you set for the SWAP?

Do you have another applications running on the liveCache server?

How much main memory could be granted for the liveCache process?

How much data do you have in the liveCache?

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Dear Shishir,

-> It's good idea to increase the CACHE_SIZE liveCache parameter value.

According your information, you have set the value 61400 <pages > = 491200KB, the value is too small for the liveCache instances.

And you need to run the sizing of your system to estimate how much data you are planning to have in liveCache, check the main memory on the liveCache server, check how much memory used by another applications running on the liveCache server => increase the CACHE_SIZE liveCache parameter value.

-> I recommend to create the ticket to the component SV-BO-SCM to check

the configuration of the liveCache parameters on your system.

-> Please see the SAP note:

719652 Setting initial parameters for liveCache 7.5, 7.6, 7.7

Dear Shishir,

-> What is the version of your system? What is the version of the liveCache and LCA build?

-> Please use the DB Analyzer to find the bottleneck in the liveCache.

Please overview the SAP note:

820824 FAQ: MaxDB / SAP liveCache technology

< It will give you information about the liveCache/DB Analyzer documentation.>

-> The MAXDB documentation available at

http://maxdb.sap.com/documentation/ -> SAP MaxDB 7.6 Library -> Database Analyzer < -> messages >

-> Please see the datacache usage in "LC10 -> ... -> Memory areas -> Caches"

If the data cache shows a high fill level (more than 95%) there could be performance problems on your system. Please see more details at SAP liveCache documentation < you will find the link in SAP note 767598 >::

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/b6/cbdda6248ff648ae9f39f8e28eb24f/frameset.htm ->

Database Administration in CCMS: SAP liveCache Technology -> liveCache Assistant -> liveCache: Monitoring

-> Current Status -> Memory Areas -> Caches < -> "Monitoring the Main Memory Areas">.

Please also overview the document "Monitoring the Main Memory Areas" in details.

Please follow the recommended steps in the document for the "Critical Situations" during the Monitoring the Data Cache on the system.

As recommended, first check the configuration of CACHE_SIZE livecache parameter.

Then check, that you have not the long running liveCache application transactions and the OMS versions opened for long periods of time.

-> As SAP customer you have the option to create the OSS ticket and get help from SAP support. I could create the ticket to the component SV-BO-SCM or BC-DB-LVC or BC-DB-LCA.

We could login to your system to check the configuration of the liveCache parameters, to check if you have the long running liveCache application transactions.

You wrote, that "As per EWA reports - Its saying that Your liveCache DATA_CACHE is full."

=> I recommend to create the ticket to the component SV-BO-SCM first.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Shishir,

as the warning tells you: the data cache is full.

So this is not about the filling of the data or log volumes.

As liveCache is designed to keep all data in the cache while performing the computations any paging activity for cache management will lead to an extreme performance degration.

To get around this issue, you should check whether you can reduce the set of data that needs to be kept in the cache. Check if you can get rid of more history data.

You might also consider to increase the Cachesize to allow more data to be kept in memory. In any case make sure that you don't allow more Cache than the physical available memory permits - otherwise you will see paging again (this time on OS level).

hope that helps,

Lars
