Hi ,

For make to order scenario which item category we should use ?

Is it mandatory that it should be assign to sales Doc.?

Irrespective of item category, unless you assign the same in VOV4 to your order type, for me, you cannot create a sale order.

Hi,

In case of MTO you need use Strategy Group 20 in MRP view.Since you are dealing with MTO ,it is most likey that configurable material for which you have use 0002 item category and assign it to Sales Doc type.

Dear Akash,

For make to order the item category is TAK.

And if you have created material master with item category group as 0001(make to order), this will be automatically determined in sales order, not required to give mannually.(settings in VOV4)

As a standard, we use TAM for MTO-Assembling operations and TAC for MTO-Configuration.

Yes. You need to have these assignemnts of AItem categories with your Sls doc type for Itm. catg group 0002 and 0004.
