Hi,
we have several systems running on iSeries, Linux and Windows machines with 64bit processors.
The ztta/roll_first has been changed several times, most of them (if not all) by following SAP recommendations, from the value "1" to "1024".
Right now, every system has the value 1024 set for the ztta/roll_first parameter...
Can anybody please explain me exactly what the ztta/roll_first parameter means and does?
What should be the value for it? I've read that it should be set to "1" on 64bit systems (for example, SAP Note 146289 - Parameter Recommendations for 64-Bit SAP Kernel)
Thanks
Antonio
thanks for both your answers....
I should have the parameter set to 1, because I have a lot of extended memory available...
thanks again!

Hello,
ztta/roll_first = The value specifies the amount of memory in bytes that is allocated from the roll area, before memory is allocated from the extended memory.
Value of ztta/roll_first should be smaller than ztta/roll_area
