Primary Application Server Instance is you old CI and Additional Application Server instance is your old DI.

So now you have if you are doing a HA install

1) ASCS ( Depending on single or dual stack)

2) SCS ( Depending on single or dual stack)

3) Database Instance

4) Enqueue Replication server instance ( As part of 7.1)

5) Primary Application server instance

6) Additional Application server instance

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I thought the Central Services Instance was different from PAS? Do you have any SAP documents that explains this?

Thanks

Hi,

The previous Central Instance is broken down in ASCS and PAS.

With this setup the fail over can be faster on a HA cluster. It makes also possible to use the replicating Enqueue server.
