Hi!
I am on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 13 and use SAP XI 7.0.
I have seen on SAP Service Marketplace that new SAP NetWeaver Versions are available:
- SAP NetWeaver EHP1
- SAP NetWEaver PI 7.1
My question:
1) First of all: Make it sence to update the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 to SPS 17
2) Can I then update SAP NetWEaver 7.0 SPS 17 to SAP NetWeaver EHP1?
3) Is is possible to update SAP NetWEaver 7.0 with SAP NetWEaver PI 7.1?
If yes, what is the procedure here?
Thank you very much!
regards
Holger
Hello,
Please do find the answers to your questions below:-
Answer1: As per SAP it makes sense to always update the SAP software to the latest patch. I would recommend my customer to always upgrade the system to latest patch only if it is recommended by SAP to solve a issue and if they do need a new functionality.
Answer2: EHP patching co-exists in relation to the SP stack of the existing release. Minimum SP stack level required to update a 700 release system to EHP1 = SP15
EHP1 SP0 = SP16
EHP1 SP1 = SP17
and so on
Answer3: Yes it is possible to upgrade the PI7.0 to PI 7.1. Kindly check the PI 7.1 upgrade guide for further information

I dont think there is SP 17 for PI 7.0

EHP1 is for 7.1 release

The guides for this are available in the product specific upgrade of OSS!

It is usually always sensible to perform an upgrade. SAP always recommend it.
Check EhP1 related restrictions in SAP Note 1004107.
Are you sure SP 17 is out for PI 7.0?
