Quality Gate Management vs. ChaRM

Hi!

I successfully updated my SOLMAN to SPS 18. As of this patch some new functions has been installed.

I have some questions regarding this.

1) What is the difference between Quality Gate Management and ChaRM?

2) Is Job Scheduling by Redwood free of charge with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1?

3) Is this useful to install Wily Introscope 8.0 instead of 7.2?

It will be great to get some answers for my questions!

For your 2nd query, please find the details below.

2) Is Job Scheduling by Redwood free of charge with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1?

This function is not available by default. To use this function, you must purchase the Process Scheduling for SAP Solution Manager add-on and explicitly activate the function.

Navigate to "Solution Manager Extension" on the left pane >

Then on the right pane "Process Scheduling Adapter for SAP Solution Manager"

This pdf explains the QGM are the gates at each phases of the project which can control transport request by the Quality manager or board.

This is available in SP18 or ehancement pack 1 onwards........in Change managment Work Center.

CHARM is automation of transport requests across all the system landscape but it doesnt have anything phase wise which is now available in QGM.

2.2) Is Job Scheduling by Redwood free of charge with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1?

For this already answer is given above that it is not free you have to buy Process Scheduling Adapter

3) Is this useful to install Wily Introscope 8.0 instead of 7.2?

SAP always recommends to use the latest version so better you go for 8.0.
