Hello Experts,
the issue-
User creating customer master , number range is descending. for example, today the number is 89075, tomorrow if he is creating one more customer the number is 89074.how can this happen? causes/reasons?
Regards,
Raj
Hi,
Just check the account groups for the customers which the user is creating.. I think user is creating two customers with two different account groups which in turn giving him that problem/doubt.
To give more clarity:- If you have two account groups A&B and 'A' has current number as 89074 then if user tries to create a customer with 'A' account group then system will alot him next number which is 89075 and if 'B' accoutn group has current number as 89073 and then if user tries to create a customer with account group 'B' then system will alot him the next numeber which is 89074..
Hope this will give you better clarity.

Hi,
It could be because of the Number range buffering which the system by default takes in to consideration when allocating the numbers internally to the documents in order to minimize the time required to do the same.
Some times the numbers get automatically skipped in the series also when the SAP system gets down and is caused because of the buffering.

Dear Raj
Is the problem comes only for a selected account group or for all ??

Hi
Check the number range assigned against Account group in TCode OBAR
Then pass the number range into XDN1 and check the current number and see whether external number range tick is not activated.

Hi
It could be that once the customer master was created someone has gone and changed the current number in the customer master number range.

hello, friend.
i tried defining a number range from a larger number to a smaller number, but the system does not allow this. i am still looking for an option for descending internal numbering. have you checked if there is an ABAP or Z program running in the background that may be causing this?
regards.

Hi,
Your problem is lit bit tricky, as a rule of thumb the number flow should be in ascending order but not n descending order, just check this progarm SAPMF02D where u can add ur custom functionality to pick the number range, take the help of ur abaper to resolve this.
Regards,
kishore.
