Dear,

For Strategy 10, requirement class is 100, requirement type is LSF. Customer req type is KSL.

For Strategy 40 requirment class are 101, requirement type VSF, Customer req type is KSV

SPRO > Production> MRP > Master data> define strategy

Requirement type and Requirement Class decide the way PIRs and CIRs be treated by system. The requirement Class is assigned to Strategy which in turn is assigned to Strategy Group. This strategy group is assigned to material through Material master.

The requirement type decides whether the "transfer of requirement", "availability check", etc. needs to be done for the Sales order. There are 2 ways by which the requirement type is determined for the Sales order item.

1. Through Strategy group.

2. Requirement type determination through combination of "Item Category" & "MRP Type". Here, itself the priority between these 2 types is set.

SAP provides standard requirement type and classes.

Please rfeer this thread for details,

Regards,

Hi

In general,

Requirements classes control the creation of planned independent requirements or sales orders and customer requirements. The following is determined by the requirements class, for example;

-the consumption of independent requirements by sales orders

-how warehouse stock is taken into account (net or gross requirements planning)

-inventory management and cost allocation (make-to-order or make-to-stock production)

-the release of the planned order (planning without final assembly)

-requirements distribution (configuration)

In std. SAP Requirements classes

100 Make-to-stock prod.

101 Plnng with assembly

102 Gross reqmts plnning

103 Plnng w/o assembly

104 Plnng for plnng mat.

105 Assembly planning

106 Plng phantom assemb.

107 Plng assy w/o fn.ass

The requirements type is a language-dependent key that can be given a short text. When maintaining planned independent requirements, only the requirements type is displayed.

A requirements class can be allocated several requirements types.

In the SAP standard system, the following requirements types are preset:

BSF: gross requirements planning LSF: make-to-stock production/net requirements planning VSF: planning with final assembly VSE: planning without final assembly VSEV: planning with planning material VSFB: planning at assembly level

NOTE: Define the requirements types and allocate them to the requirements classes.

*All the settings for the Planning strategies are done at the backend. you don't need to do anything specifically.

Hi,

Strategy group(which is used in MRP3) is the combination of different strategies.

The strategies are defined in this following Path

SPRO->Production->Production Planning>Demand Management>Planned Independent Requirements>Planning Strategy>Define Strategy.

Strategy is the combination of requirement types defined wrt demand managament-PP area

and req types defined wrt customer(SD area).

These requirement types are assigned to requirement class.

PP area, to assign req type to req class,

Production Planning->Demand Management>Planned Independent Requirements->Requirements Types/Requirements Classes>Define requirements types and allocate requirements class.

In SD area, In OVZH u will assign req type to req class.

In PP area, this requirement class is defined in OMPO transaction where u will maintain Planning indicator, consumption indicator etc.....

In SD area, u will maintain it in OVZG transaction.

Thanks and Regds

Hi,

This is the integration part with PP & SD. You need not worry and confuse about this. Already it is configured is SAP. You need not do anything. Already in OMP1 t-code this allocation is done. In OVZG t-code you can create the requirement class.
