Hi Experts,
Is it possible in MDM to pick the Input file automatically from MDM Import Manager in XI/ PI it picks the file using file sender adapter ? So that we can consolidate this imported data and for further processing.

sreeni
Hi kancham,
Yes, in the scenario you have mentioned MDM can automatically pick the input file and process it fro automatic importing.
For this to take place you need to make the following settings:
- Create a Remote system in MDM console
- Create a Port in MDM console of type in Inbound for that remote system
- When you cretae the port you need to set ceratin properties for automatic importing.
- Firstly Set the Processing type as Automatic.
- The processing interval(hourly/weekly etc)
- The Import maps name.
- Configure the MDIS.ini file with the repository username and password and the processing interval after which the file in the inbound ready folder will be picked by MDM.
- Restart the MDM import server service.
Note: For processing the Importing automatic you need to firstly create the import map and save it.This map name needs to be given in the ports detail property.Only then when the port ready folder has the input file it will process it using the import map make sure your map is correct and can process the input file correctly and mismatch will cause an exception while automatic import.
Also the next important thing is making the MDIS settings .
Automatic importing:

For MDIS configurations:
Import manager ref guide>MDM import server(MDIS)>MDIS Consfiguration
Hope It Helped

Hi Kancham,
Yes it is possible, for this you need to install MDM Import Server and assign the MDM Server name in MDIS.ini file located at {MDM Installable}/Import Server.
Also you need to create a port in MDM Console with Processing Type=Automatic and the file is to be placed in that port folder.
