Hi,
What is the transaction code for finding out the server name for eg. whethr we are working on sand box, testing/quality/production ? where we need to do this t.code.

From SAP Easy Access screen goto Menu>system->Status.
This will give you all details you are looking for..For instance server name etc.

If you wish to know the server:
From any screen, on the top menu bar:System>Status. You will get a popup window. On the lower left hand side of the window you will see the server name.
Some people like to see this permanently displayed on every screen. For this, you can expand the status bar. The status bar is the bar at the very bottom of each screen. To expand, clik on the small triangle in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Once these data are displayed, one of the items will always contain the server name. You can change the contents of the first field. One of the selections for the first field is 'system name'.
