Hi team,

An error noticed that APO-TPVS has created two shipments for same delivery. shipments are created in two different days.

What could be possibility of this issue?

Would it be CIF issue?

Thanks ,

Rajesh.

Hi Sandeep / Sebastian,

Thanks a lot ,

Splitting functionality is not being used in our business, hence two fright units for a delivery scenario is not exist.

Manually shipments are not created. both the shipments were created by APO with the gap 3-4 days for same delivery document.

Will database and Live cache inconsistency cause this issue? Which is the table being referred by TPVS to select delivery documents for shipment creation.

Thanks

Hi Rajesh,

I understand that both the shipments for the same delivery are created by APO. This is definitely not a right behaviour.

There can be nothing wrong in CIF, they cannot alter the behaviour of TPVS. To answer your query on the tables, refer to /sapapo/VS_E_DLV (for Deliveries) & other /sapapo/VS_E* tables. These are exclusion tables, if entries are present here, then the system does not consider for planning.

You can try finding the which (transaction/report/event) influences the creation of duplicate shipment from these exclusion tables, that can give you some idea to locate the issue. Say for example after you create a shipment check if the Exclusion tables are updated with the entries (it would have done it). Then may be recheck the same entries are present after you run a significant report / consistency check / transaction. If the entries are missing then you are close to the problem otherwise reiterate.

I am sure this can help as the system does not consider documents for planning if there are entries in the exclusion tables.

Hi Rajesh,

that's not necessarily an error... You can create a planned shipment in TP/VS, and afterwards (before transfering the shipment to ERP) you can create a shipment for the same delivery directly in ERP.

During transfer of the ERP-shipment to APO the system will find out that there's already a TP/VS-shipment for this delivery and will remove the delivery from the TP/VS shipment.

Hi Senthil Mareeswaran,

Thanks for reply,

Both ship-to-party and shipping point are same for all items and also both shippments has same transport planning point , forwarding agent and route etc.

Thanks,

Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,

If the delivery is split in different freight units & if all the freight units requires more than one vehicle, then this can happen. Pl. check & confirm.

This can also happen if manual shipment is created for the delivery & then transaction VS54 is run to delete the shipments having deletion indicator on. In this case the system removes certain table entries from APO & makes the delivery again available for planning and in this case, the system will create another shipment for the same delivery. Depending on the APO version you are using, you can check & apply one of the following notes

798275

1117015

1131158

In case if still the problem is not solved, you can revert back

Thanks & Regards

Hi Rajesh,

Please check whether the ship-to-party and shipping point for those items are maintained differently or same. If it is maintained differently, then this problem arise.

Please confirm
