regarding date of birth, plz help me

Hi Freinds,

Iam want to maintain date of birth for the customer in xd01, Iam unable to find the date of birth field in all screens in xd01,

but this field is appearing in KNA1 table, Iam working on 6.0 version

any one plz tell me where can i find this field in xd01

Hi

You can maintain Date of Birth in General data in XD01 in contact person tab

the technical table name is KNVK and field name is GBDAT for date of birth.

Dear Nimit/ Venkata,

Yes, Its available with:

XD01/ 02 --> Tab: General Data --> Sub-Tab: Contact Person

Insert Contact Person's name in Column: Name; and click "Blue magnifying lens", at bottom.

It will lead to Screen: Contact Person Details

Here, we can maintain "Date of Birth"

Hi,

as written above, date of birth is not part of the customer data. It is a contact person field.

So, the fact it is available in the customizing of the customer address is due to a very special case.

The Consumer account group

The definition of a consumer in short.

A consumer is a customer which has one and only one contact person. The contact person is himself.

Technically speaking, KNA1-DEAR6 should be 'X'

The account group should have DEAR6 = X too

The result of this, from the transaction screen: the address tab contains a mixture of customer master fields and contact persons fields.

This also explains why in the customizing field settings of the customer account group (OBD2...) fields usually not available are present. This is in case the customizing deals with a consumer account group.

I couldn't find date of birth field in KNA1 table. Even I am also using 6.0

It is not possible to maintain date of birth of a customer in customer master directly but indirectly it would be possible.

You can maintain contact person in a customer master and than maintain date of birth for that contact person using transaction code VAP1/2.

This is the best possible solution part from using some other field/text of customer master.

Hi,

Go to transaction OBD2 and select the concerned account group of your customer data u are maintaining.

Here in the Field status select the General data field and double click on it.

then select the Address field from the select group their you will find the Date of Birth field which would be in the supress state.

Just change the state in to required or Optional entry and save.

This setting will allow you to maintain the date of birth field in CMR.

Hi venkataramana

Firstly , Go to OBD2 and select your account grp and then check wheather it is in disable mode or not there

Secondly , Go to Logistics General->Customers->Select Customers general data tab change mode ( change mode) or check t.code OB20 .if the field is available then make it mandatory and then save it and then go to XD02 and then check wheather those fields are coming or not.
