sapinst install stopped when the step of Configuration oracle Network

Hi Experts,

I installed sap ides ecc6.0 sr3 on 32bit windows XP system，the install option is System copy（which mentioned by sap note ），the install worked OK until the 10th step of Configuration oracle Network,it raised up a error dialog window,the message is "iaextract.c:888 child has signaled an exec error...",the install log showed it stopped at 'Execute step doNetworkConfigurationServer...',but I installed oracle and patch successfully,I have no idea about this case,anyone can give any advice?

AC and amazing luck,

Its true what AC says but people are successful in installtion of SAP on windows XP as the requirements of SAP is of NT based paltforms and its get satisfied.

So what Amazing luck is trying is quite possible

Hi,

According to the installation guide (ERP 6.0 SR3) IDES cannot be installed in Windows XP, in fact, only 64 bits versions of Windows 2003 and 2008 are accepted. What note did you read about installing in XP?.

Hi,

I did read that note and it mention 32 bits "environments" but that is only Windows Server 32 bits like 2000 and 2003. ERP ECC 6.0 cannot be installed in XP, IDES is based in ERP ECC 6.0 so it neither can be.

My recomendation is to install Windows 2003 server standard and then install IDES.

Thanks for your reply, I looked up <myoracle_home>/network/log,but it hasn't any log file,and I

open the file " C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ERP\LM\COPY\ORA\SYSTEM\CENTRAL\AS-ABAP\lsnrctl.log.",it also is blank, that's so strange.
