SAP kernel 7.00 and 7.10 localtion of br*executables

I have a question regarding the br* tools and the location of the executables. If I drill down to /sapmnt/SID/exe I noticed that the br tools are not located in this directory.

However I drill down to /usr/sap/SID/SYS..../debug I find all of my br executables.

Is this correct? or has someone installed or upgraded the kernel/brtools improperly?

If they are correct then how can I upgrade br* specific tools? Upgrade the executable in /dbg?

My br executables ie.brconnect, brbackup, brrestore

are under:

/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/dbg

So if I want to ungrade these then I would upgrade then in the debug directory?

Mike,

Check your Instance/SAP system parameters:

DIR_EXECUTABLE and DIR_CT_RUN these are the directories you should have your kernel running.

Check the above parameters and apply kernel manually to those locations.

Hi,

All Kernel files should be located in "exe" directory. If you using ECC 6.0 dual stack ( ABAP + JAVA) use JSPM tool to properly install the kernel for both stacks.

If it is just ABAP, follow the manual process of applying kernel.
