In CN33, you need to fill up of the following fields, apart from Project Def or WBS element and Network
1. selection profile
2. Material name
3. BOM Usage (this should match with what has been maintained in material BOM)
4. If alternative BOM is maintained, you need to fill this too.
5. And then execute.
Check the same. It should help!
There are two ways for it.
i) Manual assignment which is called as Explode BOM, (Cj20n> EDIT> Component--> Explode BOM)
ii) Automatic assignment which is called as BOM transfer (CN33) particularly makes sense, if you want to assign large no. of material component to network activity & if your BOM structure might change during your project planning so, in this case you can repeat the BOM transfer for the changed BOM and relevant network. So, system avoids duplicate assignment.
If you have configured automatic BOM transfer, than we have to run CN33 after every change in BOM. So, to avoid duplication assignment.
Let us say, you have a 2-level BOM for a turbine, where material components on different levels will be assigned to network activities.
BOM Transfer
Steps in BOM Transfer
1. Maintain reference Point in BOM item - CS02 - Basic data screen.
2. Maintain reference point in network activity - CN22 - Assignment Tab page.
3. Execute BOM transfer assignment program - CN33
4. Allocate manually or change existing assignments.
Manually Assigning Components
1. Select one or more BOM items.
2. Select the network activity to which you want to assign the BOM item(s).
3. Choose. BOM items that have been assigned are no longer displayed.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for all the other items that you want to assign.
5. Choose .A dialog box appears.
6. Confirm that you want to update the assignments with Yes.
Create a Material BOM using Tcode: CS01; where in maintain the reference point (ex: 1000) in the basic data view and use the same reference point in the network activity assignment tab.
Use Tcode: CN33 for transferring the BOM components to the each individual network activity.
Check the components in the network

you will need to set up a BOM with assemblies
Material A comprises of Mat B and mat C
And mat b comprises of mat e and mat F
BOM for Mat A
Mat B (assemblies is ticked for this)
Mat C
BOM for material Mat B
Mat E
Mat F
In the material master you will need to identify if this is to be procured externally or produced inhouse - see MRT2 tab on material master - field procurement type
depending on what you set here the system will either create Preq or planned order when you carry out the MRP run
you thne need to convert preq into po and planned order into production order
you can then confirm production work centre in PP module and the cost will come through to PS

Hi,
1-for bom transfer
create a reference point in the customising in project system img.
attach that ref point both in activity as well as bom components
then use t-code CN33 to transfer the components to activity
2- Production order creation
Do MRP run at project level-MD51
go to MD04 and see the planned order..
double click there to convert to prod order.
Thanks
Ashis
