I am an SAP basis admin for years.
Now I see some requirements for BI basis.
Could you tell me what is the differences between BI basis and basis?
The more detailed the better.
Thank you for you help.
No difference... Basis is Basis (Technical consultant)... maybe someone wanted to make enfasis in looking for a Basis person with BI/BW experience from the recruitment point of view.

Juan

Hi,
Basically the work done by BASIS are similar to BI BASIS
People who has dealt with working on BW Systems as a BASIS admin are called BI BASIS in Corporate companies(especially)
Generally a BI BASIS person would know the following
1. Installation of BW Servers
2. Roles and Authorisation Concept of BW
3. Basis knowledge of Infocube, info object etc
4. Creating Source System
5. BW-EP Configuration.
I was called a BI-BASIS in my previous company since i was maintaining BW Servers and ECC Servers
Here i am called BASIS admin sicne i am maintaining only ECC Servers
Hi Kelly,
You will become a fully qualified BI Basis consultant if you grab some knowledge on BI security, please go through the following link for BI security administration.

Thanks,
Mano
From my knowledge, you need to know what is a infocube etc, but need not know how to create a infocube and how to load data.
You need to know of what is infocube and the authorisations related to it. The reason being, you need this information when you implement security.
I was called a BI-BASIS person for the past one year by my collegues, but i dont know of how to load data into a info cube
