Firefox: NWDS won't install

Former Member

Dear community,

I cannot install the NWDS as packaged in the sneak preview.

My setup consists of IE5.0 and Firexfox 1.5. Firefox is set up as the default browser.

According to the specs that's all nice and well, as Firefox >=1.0 is supported.

However, when starting up JDTSetup, I get the message that the setup cannot run, as it requries IE>=5.5 as a browser.

Does anyone have an idea how I could get around this?

BTW: I also experienced that the server side refuses to install on a WinXP64 / AMD64 setup. Is this a limitation or did I do sth. incorrectly?

Thanks a lot for your input!

Jochen

Hi Jochen,

As a matter af fact you can work with the NWDS without installing it. Just copy eclipse folder and start the NWDS from

...\<IDE>\eclipse\SapIde.exe

Also you can create such shortcut

...\<DIR>\eclipse\SapIde.exe -vm "...<JAVA_HOME>\bin\javaw.exe"

And you'll be fine
