ECC Installation error

Hello All,

I am installing ECC on SLES 9.

The installation popped up the error "Error converting from service name=sapms<SID> /protocol=tcp to port number. SAPRETURN=12"

Please note that I am unable to create the port. It says the port is already in use. I checked using netstat, however the port is not being used.

Please help me solving the issue.

There is an entry missing:

add in /etc/services

sapms<SID>    36<systemnumber>/tcp

Markus,

The default ports while installing SAP were being used by other services in the /etc/services file.

I changed them and it worked.
