System users in XI.

Hello,

In our XI-PROD system I found 24 system users.

In "system users" I talked about these users:

DDIC

J2EE_ADMIN

J2EE_GUEST

LSADMIN

OSS

SAP*

SAPCPIC

SAPJSF

SAPPORTAL

SOLMAN

SUPPORT

TMSADM

WF-BATCH

XIAFUSER

XIAPPLUSER

XIDIRUSER

XIISUSER

XILDUSER

XIMERC

XIREPUSER

XIRWBUSER

XISUPER

XITOBW

XIUSER

My questions are:

1. All of these users are essential?

2. Can I unite some of them?

3. How you behave with this issue?

1. All are not essential and some can be removed if required from SU01.

2. Yes you can unite them creating group in SU01. PFCG

3. It depends on the service you are looking using to have the user available for it or not.Every system user is defined with certain set of roles for tasks they are supposed to.

To my exp we never use to delete them as whenever we use its always there and need not to be created. If the user is inactive we never renew its password so there is no problem anyday.

Hi Elad,

Each Service User provided in XI has a specific role & used for specific reason.

For each component, service users representing the respective components are created with the appropriate roles in the target components during installation.

Service users are used for Internal Communication & message exchange.

Its not a good idea to Unite the Service Users.

If that was issue SAP would have provided only one user for all internal communication and message exchange.

Hi ,

It depends on requirement..

few things ,by default assigned to few users.

You can Unite them using new user creation in SU01

No, not always

Yes.

Users are Roles dependent..

we can add defferent roles as per requirement.
