Space requirement for client copy

Former Member

Hi,

I have installed ECC6.0 IDES (ABAP only) with Oracle DB.

I am trying to perform a client copy with option SAP_CUST

Source Client: 001

Target Client: 010

Can anyone tell me whether I require the same amount of disk space of 001 to perform a successful client copy (to client 010)?

And, if so, how to check how much space is being used by the client 001( database and application)?

Best Regards,

Moulinath

Hi Moulinath,

The amount of space depends on the amount of data being copied. If you copy the "application data + customising data + user master data", then size will be the same.

Obviously client independent data is not copied.

ou can use RSSPACECHECK to see the amount of space being used.

Kind regards,

Hi Hemanth,

Can you please let me know whether RSSPACECHECK is a report which has to be executed from SE38?

Hi Moulinath Ray,

Yes this is a report program which is executed from SE38.

After executing this give input any table name.

It will give you the size of that.

Thanks,

Sudheer.

Hi Moulinath Ray

If you want to find out exact size, you must execute a test run before the client copy ,then extent the table space accordingly

Hello Moulinath,

i think sapnote #118823 has everything you need. There are the needed reports for the different calculations.
