hi,

we have installed SAP ECC 6.0 on linux with DB2 9.1.

Every thing was working fine but from the past two days we am unable to start SAP.

I am getting the following error when we use startsap command

Checking db6 db Database

-


ABAP Database is not available via R3trans

Starting SAP-Collector Daemon

-


Start of saposcol failed

Running /usr/sap/XXX/SYS/exe/run/startdb

SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred. SQLSTATE=58004

Activate database failed

R3trans connect failed

DB startup failed

Tried to start the database but getting the following error

2/23/2008 10:46:02 0 0 SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred.

SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued. SQLSTATE=57019

Activate database failed

R3trans connect failed

Please check the permissions of file in your DB instance: <instance-home>/sqllib/adm/db2sysc should be u201C-r-sr-s---u201C.... may this causing the problem.

Hello Kishore,

You can manually start the DB also and then use start up command SIDADM.

Login as orasid fire command "startup"

I think this should help you.

If you get error while starting DB from ORASID check the db start up log.
