Service Desk integration with third party via XLM messages

It is possible to integrate Service Desk with third party apps via XLM messages without using the webservices API?

You can use XI Proxy.

If you are famaliar with solution manager service desk or related issue, you can use other technicals like JCO to call function module directly.
