Forecast Release to SNP DOUBLING UP in week01.2009

Former Member

Hi,

We plan in weekly buckets for both DP and SNP.

When we are releasing Forecast to SNP, the forecast is doubling up for week01.2009

We release the forecast to SNP using two variants -

first release from current day to current + 12 days,

then use another variant for current + 13 to current + 532 days

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Rimjhim

Hi RimJhim,

If I am wrong, you are trying to mixup 3 different issues in the same post potentially confusing.

1. Your release to SNP is getting doubled

2. Your sales order has -123 and the system is showing up 246 in forecast tab.

3. Forecast being released to non working days

I suggest you open seperate posts for each of these in future.

1. Your release to SNP is getting doubled

You are release forecast from Day 0 to Day 12 in first variant. Then you release Day13 and forward.

But your demand is double the qty. in SNP.

Unless there is a system inconsistency or you are looking at wrong levels in DP and SNP this is not possible.

I suggest:

a. Check if you are looking at right levels of aggregation. The data in DP can be detailed but the data in SNP is released at Product and Location.

Example:

in DP

Product--

location
divison
---qty

P1--

L1
D1
--

10

P1--

L1
D2
--

10

When you release this data to SNP the data is released at Product and Location level making the total qty. 20. If you are expecting 10, you are wrong...

b. Just release for one CVC and see if the data doubling up...make sure that your variants are correct.

You have to do some trial and error type trials and see where the issue is.

Please let us know what you found.

2. Your sales order has -123 and the system is showing up 246 in forecast tab.

This is a potentially very confusing.

How can a sales order be created with negative qty.? Please check your R/3 version of this sales order (VA03)

The keyfigure in APO planning book for sales orders does not have the check mark "negatives allowed" and so it does not recognize the negative number and may be that's the reason why you are seeing zero.

Not sure why it is showing double...

3. Forecast being released to non working days

It's true that the shipping calendar determines the days to which forecast is released.

Check your release profile. Do you have any period splits in release profile?

Hi Rimjhim,

While releasing forecast from Dp to SNP, if use mc90 transaction, in the key figure assignment, go to the Target area, there is a field called "Add data", if you have checked on this field, remove the tick from add data field and then release from Dp to SNP.

Hope this works.

Please confirm

Add data is NOT checked.

Also I noticed that there is a Sales order in ECC, which is correctly in the Elements Tab page of Product View (RRP3) in APO.

Date __________ Category _______ Quantity

02.01.2008 ***** Sales Order *********** -123

However in the Planning book, this does not show at all, the Sales Order Key Fig is Blank.

Plus in the Product View, Forecast Tab Page, the Sales Order Quantity is getting Doubled up. In the Allocated Column, the qty shown is 246 on 01.01.2009 (even though there is no Sales Order in APO or ECC on this date), and nothing is showin as Allocated on 02.02.2009 !!

Kind Regards,

Rimjhim

I forgot to mention that in the Shipping Calendar assigned to all locations, the date 01.01.2009 is a NON-WORKDAY

The forecast on Wk01.2009 is 2687 in DP planning book

the released Forecast in SNP is

01.01.2009 has forecast 2687

02.02.2009 has forecast 2688

Why is it releasing to 01.01.2009 anyway if it's a non-workday?

Really need your help experts.

Thanks and Regards,

Rimjhim
