Hi,

Can anyone help me in understanding the Descriptive characteristics and consumption mode and its functional requirements like which scenario we go for Descriptive characteristics.

And also the link between the Descriptive characteristic and the ATP field catalogue in consumption group (Why we assign fields to the characteristics).

Thnaks in Advance,

Sreerama

Sreerama,

Planned independent req, refer to combination of product & location same principle when the forecast in DP contains the sold to party as a characteristic in plannning .

With the use of Descriptive Characteristics during the release of PIR req from DP you can release PIR to individual customer ,Instead of overall qty at one location product several sub set are generated for same date. Each subset can then consumed only with sales order with respective customer.

The release of PIR with descriptive characteristics occure with consumption group t-code /n/sapapo/csp1

Assign the DP characteristics (Customer)to coresponding ATP field.

MJ
