Currently i'm having difficulties in starting the netweaver server. In the SAP Management Console, whenever i start the server, only enserver.EXE able to start while msg_server.EXE, disp+work.EXE and igswd.EXE unable to start. I tried to start it one by one but it will automatically stop after around 5 sec i click the start. I not sure which log should i look into it, but i tried check some of the log file and i found out this.

stderr1

Hi Adrian Chan, try to check first "sapstart.log" in work folder ...

P.S. what do you see in D:\usr\sap\E01\SYS\profile ?

Regards.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

SAP-R/3-Startup Program

(1560) CreateProcess: D:\usr\sap\E01\SCS87\exe\enserver.EXE pf=D:\usr\sap\E01\SYS\profile\E01_SCS87_edev01

I can't find the profile folder in my D:\usr\sap\E01\SYS

In that SYS folder only have exe, gen and global folder. It seem like something not right.... as the startup profile try to call the START_SCS87_edasdev01 which is not in the folder rite.

You are on intsallation stage of NW or it's already running system? You must have this folder ... Without this your sap will not come up ...

Yup.

Actually the system is up. But I'm doing some development then i restart the server. I realized the folder had been moved to another place which I don't know why. I found the folder and then copied the folder. Now the disp+work unable to up. Wondering what else i had missed out.

Thanks.

Do some steps .. Try to restart your server (OS) after login in system under "SID"adm user, try to start

SAP and check same logs (dev_w0 and dev_disp) it will contain only newest information , if it will no so big post here, also execute in CMD --> R3trans -d and find the "trans.log" file in same directory where you execute this -->

C:\Documents and Settings\username> R3trans -d

check in C:\Documents and Settings\username

So sorry for late reply. I was away for 2 week.

After i moved the file to the folder as i said it unable to start also but then after 1 day, it able to start and running as expected. Maybe it not yet refresh when i paste it. But i didn't do any OS level of restart.

Thanks for the helps.

Adrian,

If you are installing system, try to continue the installation. If fails - start again from the scratch.

Your system is running already, look for /profile/ directory on the server in case it was placed somewhere else (drag-drop error in Windows explorer?) or restore it from the backup.

Regards,

Slava.
