BOM - Planned Order Creation

Hi Experts,

I attached a BOM to an activity. When i save the project and check in MD04, an Order Reservation is created. But i want a planned order to be created. Please suggest what could be the error. What settings have to be changed?

Hi,

That is standard SAP behavior. In order to address your requirement, development will be required. You can consider developing a Z transaction, which will be combination of CN33 and MD02, in short after BOM transfer MRP will run automatically.

Thank you for the helpful reply.

We do not want to create a development transaction. Please suggest me the standard process flow from attaching BOM to conversion of Planned Order into Production Order for a project.

Assign BOM to activity, then explode BOM.

Run MRP, it'll create Planned order.

Planned order will be converted to production order (Check your PP guy, he should help you here)

Hi Kabir,

Follow these transactions:

1. CN33: BOM transfer

2. MD02: Plant MRP to generate planned order

3. MD04: Convert planned order to prod ord.

4. MB1A: Issue matl to prod ord

5. CO15: Order confirmation

6. MB31: Finished goods receipt.
