Hi Sridhar,
I am not sure, but I dont think it is possible to send an acknowledgement to a file.
One way out would be to go for a BPM that would send an acknowledgement by posting some message to a file using a file adapter.
If you need more info on how this solution can be arrived at, do let me know.

Hi Sridhar,
The Ack is generally used in IDoc to IDoc scenario. But you can use the same mechanism in a file scnario using BPM. There are two ways u can do this
1. Collect the ack IDoc in the BPM. But u are over loading the XI system here.
2. U can create a program in ur destination system which gives the details of the incoming Idoc and u can send that as a file using ABAP proxy.
Depends on what ur requirement is?

1. File to BPM
2. BPM to SAP -> in the Send Step request for Tranport Ack.
3. If you get the transport ack --> Send Ack as a file to target . you will need a mapping etc and a format in which you will decide the Ack content.
4. You would need a deadline branch to wait for the Ack for "X hours/ X minutes" and if no, then trigger the negative Ack with a Exception Branch and so on.

Hi Sridhar,
>>>>>>i need to send an acknowledgement for the sender<<<<
In File>XI>Idoc scenario, you may not able to send acknowledgements back to the file. But to handle the acknowledgements from the IDoc using Idoc adapter, refer to the how-to-guide at the following link.
