How to Add an iView to a Portal Page within .NET Visual Studio

I have created a portal component and portal page within my .NET project. How do I add that portal component(iView) to the page within .NET?? I know this is possible, since I saw it in a demo today given by Oliver Mayer, but I can not get it to work or find any documintation on how to do it.

Also I can not find any documintation on how to publish(not deploy) a project with in .NET to where it will create the folders/iView and pages needed within the portal. So that I do not have to go to the portal to create te iView from the .par file and eveything else.

Best regards - Micah Coletti

Hi,

After you create a portal page, you only need to drag and drop a portal component from the solution explorer to the page designer.

Publising (that is creating the iviews and pages) is available either from the project context menu, or the SAP toolbar or the SAP Menu. Documentation about <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/nw/dotnet/pdk%20for%20.net/developer's%20Guide%20PDK%202.0%20for%20.NET/Programming%20with%20PDK%20for%20.NET/Designing%20Portal%20Pages/PPD_Overview.htm">publishing</a> is available in the Developer's Guide under the Programing with PDK for .NET.

Could you please explain in details. I have a component created in Visual Studio 2003. I deployed the component. and I am trying to use it in a iView. But when browsed through a browser the iview is not visibel.

Thanks,
