Classification and Chars

Hi All

Can someone suggest whether the following is possible through CLASS and CHARS?

A DIR has to be classified based on some parameters and following CHARS are used

1) Country :- Values would be all countires, - India, Austrialia, Germany, USA...

2) State :- Values should be States within the country, ie, if the person selects India - this should show only states under India. If he selects USA, the list should show only US states.. Is this possible?

3) District :- Should show based on "State" selected

Above is just a simple example for easy understanding

Can somebody suggest whther this is possible using Class & Chars in stand DMS, if yes please explain

Hi,

in addition to the reply of Manoj, you must create a dependency (CU01) for each country, like CHAR1='US'.

Add this dependency for each value in your CHAR State. You can do this in transaction CT04 --> Values --> object dependency (shift F11).

If someone creates a new DIR and chooses the CHAR1=US, then he only can select the US-states .

Hi,

first create characteristics under CT04,

Characteristics Name : Country

India, Austrialia, Germany, USA...

you must set this to released.

Characteristics Name : State

Maharashtra, etc

you must set this to released.

Characteristics Name : District

Pune..etc

you must set this to released.

after creating characteristics, create class under CL01.

and set these characteristics under this class.
