Yes single delivery can have more than one shipment documents.
For Example:- If a delivery needs to ship through Transportation chain(By road>By Ship>By road)
Prelimenery leg by Road
Main leg by Sea
Susequent leg by read ,in this scenerio you can create more than one shipment documents for the single delivery.
Can a shipment number have more than one stage number?
Yes in single shipment you can have more than one stage, if the route having the different stages which is maintained in the shipment document.This is general businees process having number of stages in the single route.
