Error in SMTP settings

Hi all,

I am doing a sample scenario with alert configuration set up. I configured all the necessary steps in SMTP.

Finally I am getting the following error while trying to connect SXMB_MONI.

I saw this message in Bussiness WorkPlace:

Send status for document < Process 000000001010 >

The following status was received for the document <Process 000000001010> sent by you to the recipient <XIMAIL>:

<Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)>.

Please advice if i miss anything

Thanks & Regards,

SEKHAR

Hi sekhar,

What are the connection parameters that you have specified while configuring your mail adapter? Did you check if your adapter is working fine in the rwb.

Hi,

Think the error you are encountering is due to the error in SMTP Url. Check if you SMTP server is running and give a valid SMTP server URL.

The links below on Alert Management (ALM) will be of good help to you:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3f/81023cfa699508e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

Below is SAP link to do SCOT config...

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/af/73563c1e734f0fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm

IT would be better/faster if you have basis help available...

This configuration is required for the sending of mails out of the ABAP stack using SMTP....This can be used by any application / service like the CCMS or the alerting framework...

Also, In ALRTCATDEF, go to SETTINGS--> CONFIGURATION. By default, the option selected is INTERNAL PROCESSING. Select the option SMTP FORWARDING AS XML and give the email id. This will enable you to send an email alert whenever an error occurs in XI.

I hope I have answered your queries. If u want help with anything else please do reply back.

Hi Sekhar,

Have you checked if your Alert COnfiguration has been doen correct and has your SCOT connection been completed on your server.??

One way to test your Alert Confiuguration would be to use the report RSALERTTEST under se38. This will trigeer the alert if the ALERT configuration has been done perfectly.

Also, to check if the scot connection is done, after triggering the ALERT using this report mentioned, go to the TCODE SCOT and see the status of your mail under SMTP. If it is in waiting, then the SCOT has not been configured. IF it is in transit or sent, then all your configurations are working fine.
