packing list for preshipment

Hi friends,

we have a scenario where its Make to stock scenario.But for exports the material is taken for planning when the export order is confirmed.so now after the order has come it takes say 5days to complete the production dept to make stocks available for that order.

meanwhile the sales person creates the sale order and the proforma invoice as for preshipment documents required for customs clearance.But now the issue is the preshipment also contains a packing list which will be created only when the stocks are made available in the system after the delivery document is created.

But these so called preshipment documents say Proforma invoice and delivery documents are submitted well in advance to customs since it takes 2-4 days for clearence..

Now my question is how to create a delivery in the system so that the packing list can be printed before the material is made available from production against the sale order.

we know that if stock is not confirmed in so delivery is not created.

Still we need this to happen in thye system.Is there any solution how this can be done.

Just switch off the Availability check in your Delivery Item category configuration and then you can create Delivery even without stocks also.

Another option of getting the packing list is in the sales order itself. Create a Packing proposal in the sales order (Extras - Packing proposal) and then create an Output type for Packing list with an appropriate smartform and trigger it during saving sales order.
