Hi!"

I am facing currently with the following problem by defining of SAP ERP system in Portal System Landscape.

Test Connection with Connector

Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly

What I have done:

I exported the SSO certificate from SAP back end (client 100) and imported them into Portal.

I also exported the verify.der file from Portal and imported them into SAP back end (client 100).

Can some one please help me to solve this problem?

Thank you!

Thom

Hi!

Could you please tell me how to create a View for this business system?

I am under Content Administration. Under which tab I should press "creare an ivew"?

What are the further typical actions for backend systems I can implement?`

Thank you!

Yes, you can ignore the error, since tests were done under the wrong user.

You connection test errors out for the same reason your SAP Transaction did not work: you tried it under user Administrator, which does not exist in the backend ABAP system. If you test it under user existing in ABAP, it should work.

Right click on "Portal Content" New->Folder, give your folder a name.

Right click on the folder you created, New->iView->iView Template->SAP Transaction iVew, follow the wizard.

What are the further typical actions for backend systems I can implement?

Other typical actions would be ABAP role uploads or frontend for BSP, but these are usually driven by functional requirements, not something to implement right after the portal install.

Hi!

I would like to correct my earlier message.

When I try to test with "Administrator" the test fails, because the user Administrator does not exist on business system.

When I try with one existing user the test goes right.

Does it mean that I can neglect the connection error telling me that the SSO does not correctyl configured?

Thank you!

Hi!

When I do the test (System Administration --> Support --> SAP Application --> SAP Transaction with SAP GUI for Windows) I can see the the SAP system in Portal, but

receive the following error:

Ticket contains no/an empty ABAP user ID.

I checked the SAP note 1159962.

My SAP ERP 6.0 system is on SAPKB70016 and has SAP kernel 179.

On Portal side the Option ume.configuration.active is set to "true".

Are there any other trace possibilites to solve this problem?

Thank you!

Hi

to test the SSO,

Naviate to System Admin > Support>sap application

Click on SAP Transaction.

next scren appears.

select your System from Dropdown.

Enter any TCode say SE16.

Click on Go.

If SSO is configured correctly then you will be connected to SAP .

Hi!

Could you kindly explain how to make an iView that uses the system alias and see if that works?

Thank you!

One more thing we did not mention:

Your system definition has to have at least one System Alias:

Right Click, Open, System Aliases

Creating iview:

Content Administration, R-click to create an ivew.

Create an ivew of type "SAP Transaction iView".

Select "SAPGUI for Windows" GUI type to test Connector settings of your system or Select "SAPGUI for HTML" GUI type to test ITS settings.

Use the system alias.

Instead of creating a new iview, I'd rather go to:

Sys Admin, Support, Sap Applications, SAP Transaction.

Select the alias in System

Put SMEN as Transaction Code

"SAPGUI for Windows" SAP GUI type for testing Connector settings.

or

"SAPGUI for HTML" for testing ITS settings.

Click "go"

Same result - little less work.

Also look at SAP Note Number: 701205 - Single Sign-On using SAP Logon Tickets.

Can be of some use for you.

I meant that you should create an iView based on the template SAP transaction. One of the things you need for this type of iView is the name of a system alias, which is assigned to the system you just created...

Hi!

I done all the steps, but the error still appears.

Do you know how to trace this problem?

Thank you very much!

I'd suggest ignoring the error. Make an iView that uses the system alias and see if that works. If it does, then all is OK. If it doesn't, then you can start fisxng the SSO access as per the other suggestions...

I exported the SSO certificate from SAP back end (client 100) and imported them into Portal.

Not required.

I also exported the verify.der file from Portal and imported them into SAP back end (client 100).

In addition to import you need to add the certificate to the ACL for the client.

Also, you need to set the profile parameter login/accept_sso2_ticket to the value 1 in every instance profile (Tcode RZ10)
