Hi,
We plan to move our SAP datacenter hosting a lot of Netweaver and non-Netweaver installations to a new data center.
The move is not a physical move of boxes but it's almost like a system refresh with a new installation in the target server and restoring of backups.
Hope some of the Basis experts have come across such scenarios.
Can you share your experiences about the preparatory work for such a move.
We presume that IP address and physical hostnames will change with this move, so any pointers towards changes that can be foreseen in Portal, SSO, SLD related, will be very helpful.
Regards
Mahadevan
Yes, you can use the database specific method or the database independent way to create the export from the source system. It depends on your convenience and the systems you require to move.
Please refer to the system copy guides for netweaver
http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000659894&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&;
The system copy guide is explaining the post installation activities required after the system copy. For example, you have to recreate the JCO connections, check the SLD data suppliers etc etc after the copy. Its all mentioned in system copy guide. Read through these guides and you will get a better picture to make a plan.
Regards,
Jazz
