Dear All,

We are using SAP ECC 6.0 on Windows 2003 Server with MS SQL Server 2005 as database.

We are planning to migration our system from non MSCS envrionment to MSCS Envrionment.

I have a query can we swift our existing database to MSCS environment through Database specific method ( means Database Detach and Attach ) ?

Regards,

Nikunj Thaker.

I think it should be possible.

Install the DB software following the steps for a MSCS installation. This will make sure that the shares for the database and the log file will be availbale for the MSSQL software. Now detach the database from the source(non-cluster system) and copy the data files and the log file to the corresponding shares in the target server.

After that you can follow the general process of attaching the database.

Once the database is attached you can then follow the steps for a homogeneous system copy for an MSCS target system.

Dear Anand,

Base on this assumption i am trying to do.

I am expecting some one already did and he says yes this can be done.

Thanks,

Nikunj Thaker.

The cluster aware properties lies in the system databases. Since you are moving the SID database it will not create any problem.

You can also wait and see if anyone who has done that, replies.
