Dear Freinds,
2 years back we have loaded record in an infocube and now cube is compressed , but now we come to know that in that record one request was false.So now management want us to delete that request how to do that.???
Thank You.
Hi
You can perform this activity via the selective
deletion function in Infocube maintenance. You would need to de-activate any
aggregates, perform the selective delete, then re-activate the aggregates.
In terms of performance, the most important thing is to re-build DBSTATS and
check for degenerated indexes that may need re-building to bring their size
down.
Deleting a request ROLLED UP in aggregate => no problem (it just takes
longer because of the activation/deactivation of the aggregates)
Deleting a request COLLAPSED in the cube (named 'compressed' in older
BW-versions which I'm hoping you're no longer using) => you CAN NOT
delete this based on the request-id (since collapsing removes this) =>
just maybe a selective delete can work for you. For this:
=> Manage Data Target-screen of your cube
=> tab Contents
=> push button 'selective deletion' (lower right)
=> on Selection choose 'immediate start' on Delete Selections
choose your selections WISELY
=> push START (not continue)
A selective delete : deletes data on your cube base on a selection
However,another method can be by following these steps:
1 find your request on request infocube manage/request.
2. Goto Monitor screen and apply request reverse posting.
3. so it wiil add one request with negative values.
4. you have to compress that particular request.
5. see your data in Bex.
