SP15 Developer studio startup problem

Hi,

When I start the Developer Studio 2.0.15 this happens:

No splash window. No IDE, the Dev studio window does not come up.

I go to Task Manager and look at the processes. 2 SapIde.exe processes are running, one taking ~100% CPU the other just sitting there. One javaw.exe running. I have checked that there are no SapIde.exe or javaw.exe processes running before starting dev studio.

GUI comes up when I kill the 2 SapIde.exe processes.

Java is 1.4.2_03. I updated dev studio from 2.0.14.

This is happening on another machine also that was updated from 2.0.14.

Kind Regards,

Jari Pakarinen

Hi

create a buildnum.txt file in the SAP\JDT\eclipse folder.

Hi,

It did make the startup a bit faster. To the normal level I think. But it is still not showing the splash screen at startup.

Could it be because I don't have write permission to the folder where Dev studio is installed ? Is it trying to write something in there ?

Yes, thanks. Exactly the same problem.

I fixed this issue by completely removing Dev studio from my machine (uninstall and delete directory SAP\eclipse)and installing SP16.

Same Problem here... I found that If closed any open WD projects before shutting down IDE that It starts up much faster.

Sounds Like Sp16 is the real fix..

I tried unindatlling and intalling again. But not use.

Pls suggest. Should i delete

Hi Aditya,

you still could install the NWDS under a total different directory. Anyhow, for it seems to have a different reason compared to what's described in this thread, I wouldn't await "too much success" by doing this. I fear that you have to further investigate the rrot cause of the "sudden" problem. (For example: Changed/"Updated" the JDK on your computer?! Or something similar.)

Hope it helps

Hi All,

I have noticed this issue if you have Jdk 1.5 installed in your machine.
