Hi,

While creating a quotation i am getting the following error message :

No business area can be determined for item 000010

Message no. V1599

Diagnosis

The system could not determine a business area for item 000010. The item has plant 0749 and is assigned to company code 9899 for which a business area is required. This is caused by incomplete settings in Customizing.

System Response

The system does not allow you to create the item.

Procedure

Before creating the item, make sure that you have completely maintained business area assignments in Customizing.

SELECT U R SALES AREA AND SPECIFY 1 or 2

---> IF THE RULE IS 1 SELECT THE PATH AND ASSIGN BUSINESS AREA TO PLANT & DIVISION.

> IF THE RULE IS 2 SELECT THE PATH AND ASSIGN BUSINESS AREA BY SALES AREA.

If you do not want Business area functionality, swith off the Business area accounting requirement for your company code in the Global parameters.

If you want Business area accounting, then make the settings that the others have suggested.

If you define there only then this will not update enterprise structue and the error will still be on in your sales order

IMG->SPRO->Sales and Distribution->Basic functions->Account assignment and costing-->Business area account assignment-> Define Rules by Sales Area .

In Define rules by sales area select option 2 which is Business rule as per the sales area

Goto IMG>Enterprise Structure>Assignment>Sales and Distribution>Business Area Account Assignment
