What is this function?

It is for information puprose only. You can configure it in SPRO-- StructuresOpretive Str WBS--Define Priorities.

In addition to Hemant's point, you can use priority for reporting purposes. Further you can also define Validations and Substitutions based on it.

This is for the information purpose. the same you can find in the Appropriation request as well. When IM is configured you can use it.
However best use of this type of field is tracking / sorting you WBS elemetns based on priority you have mentioend in that.
say for the reportin purpose in CN41 use the functionality dynamic seletion. and you can sort your WBS element based on priority in reports.

Hi Chandra,
You can maintain sort keys for a WBS element for information system evaluation. You define the priority key in Customizing.
SPRO ---> Project system ---> Structures ---> Operative Structures ---> WBS ---> Define Priorities for WBS elements.
